Considering the amount of time she spent in her small kitchen, Jennifer Wilson knew a change was in order. So she called upon Carolyn Bedford and Gary Smith of Construction Property Group to help her with a kitchen renovation.
Jennifer’s original kitchen was short on square footage and seemed cut off from the rest of the house—and often from the rest of the family. In addition, the room had a refrigerator that took up a large amount of the area. For extra counter space, Jennifer had to utilize a mobile butcher-block island.
“We knew it was time to make Jennifer’s kitchen as amazing as the meals she so often prepares, ” Carolyn says. So the builders began with two must-haves for any seasoned cook: a counter-deep fridge and an open floorplan. “We really tried to capture Jennifer’s lifestyle to make this her dream kitchen, ” continues Carolyn.
Opening the space up allowed room for a dining bar, which expanded the seating capacity and gave Jennifer a well-deserved chef’s counter. In addition, the dining space is now tucked up under the gorgeous triple window, creating a charming setting for meals.
Carolyn also added an absolute black granite countertop island, a farmhouse sink, and custom-made cabinetry in Featherdown by Benjamin Moore. These finishing touches brought the kitchen—as well as Jennifer’s family—together perfectly.
