For the table
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
Flaky salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Zest of a lemon
Edible flowers
Fresh herbs of your choice
Chili flakes
Capers
Drizzle of honey
1 loaf warmed crusty French bread
Smear the softened butter on a small cutting board. Add any or all of the suggested toppings on top of the butter. Serve with warm, crusty French bread.
